Third seed Daniil Medvedev took nearly three hours to defeat world number 161 Jesper De Jong, securing his place in the second round of the Australian Open after a tense three-set match.
Daniil Medvedev had a turbulent opening match at the Australian Open against Jesper De Jong. Although he won the match 3-0 with scores of 7-5, 6-2 and 7-6 (2), the Russian player showed moments of instability against the resilience of his Dutch opponent.
