'Island of the Residents' wins special prize at the Asia-Europe Film Festival
Hong Anh's directorial debut film was honored at a film event in Kazakhstan.
On the evening of July 28th (local time), the Eurasia Film Festival concluded in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. The film "Island of the Residents" was awarded the Special Jury Prize.This is one of the five main awards of the film festival, alongside "Best movieGrand Prix), “Best Director”, “Best Actor” and “Best Actress”.Hong Anh's film is one of the 12 works that made it to the final round of competition.

Established in 1998, the Eurasian International Film Festival is an annual film award in Kazakhstan. This year, the event took place from July 22nd to 28th, featuring many stars such as Nicolas Cage, Adrien Brody, John Malkovich, and others.

The film "Island of the Residents" is directed by Hong Anh and written by Nguyen Quang Lap.
