(Baonghean.vn) – A resident of Chau Thon commune, Que Phong district, unearthed a Cordyceps sinensis mushroom weighing over 7 kg while hunting. Many believe this is the largest Cordyceps sinensis mushroom ever found.

This giant mushroom weighs over 7kg.

The mushrooms were brought by residents of Chau Thon village to sell at an impromptu roadside market (in Chau Thon town, Que Phong district) this morning (December 30th). This market is considered a place specializing in selling agricultural and forestry products that the locals hunt and gather in the forest.

The giant mushroom attracted the curiosity and attention of many people at the market. Weighing 7.2 kg, it was the largest mushroom they had ever seen, according to foresters. Normally, this type of mushroom only weighs between 0.5 and 1 kg per mushroom. Occasionally, some grow to around 3 kg.

The giant mushroom was carefully secured by the buyer to the rear rack of a bicycle.

The mushroom was sold for 250,000 VND.

Cordyceps is a type of mushroom that grows in high-altitude, cold-climate forests. It is considered a valuable medicinal herb that nourishes the blood, strengthens the kidneys, stimulates digestion, promotes urination, and treats aches and pains in the limbs, back pain, and several other ailments.
