(Baonghean.vn) - When digging down nearly 1 meter, a local resident was shocked to discover a mortar shell with a radius of 82 mm and a length of over 30 cm.
On the afternoon of October 4th, the village committee of Phu Lien hamlet, Quynh Long commune (Quynh Luu district), mobilized villagers to dig holes in the Bang beach area to plant trees. When they dug down nearly 1 meter, a villager was startled to discover a mortar shell with a radius of 82 mm and a length of over 30 cm.

The village committee then reported the incident to the authorities. The Quỳnh Lưu District Military Command sent ordnance officers to the scene to handle the situation.
According to the Quỳnh Lưu District Military Command, this is not the first time explosives or weapons left over from the war have been discovered in the district.
