According to the police, since November 2018, Nam used 3 million VND to buy 10 million in counterfeit bills of 200,000 and 500,000 VND. In total, this young man bought 48 million VND in counterfeit bills (more than 10 million VND in real money) and gave them to Loi to order phones online.
Loi requested deliveries to remote locations to be paid for with counterfeit money and successfully carried out three of the transactions. In case the delivery person discovered the counterfeit money, Loi and his accomplices would snatch the goods and run away.
At the end of December 2018, detectives from the Anti-Robbery Team arrested Loi and his accomplices in a motel in Thanh Tri district, confiscating an unsold phone.
