Prison cook fired for having a relationship with an inmate.

A female cook working for a prison in Michigan, USA, has been fired for having sex with an inmate in the kitchen on May 10th.

The NY Post reported on May 13th that the unnamed chef had been fired after a "noisy date" with an inmate was discovered at the Charles Egeler Rehabilitation Center in Jackson, Michigan.

They are alleged to have been "intimate" in the food cooler, shortly after dinner at 7 p.m. on May 10, officials confirmed.

According to Chris Gautz, a prison spokesperson, the management fired the employee because she received threats.

"The prisoners will exploit the 'physical intimacy' to blackmail and extort money from the female chef. Her family could be in danger," Gautz said.

According to Detroit Free Press, the new prisoners were brought to this detention center to await execution.

The male inmate is serving a sentence of 5 to 15 years for robbery. The woman, who works for the catering contractor Trinity Services Group, may face criminal charges, but this depends on the decision of Michigan state police.

Another employee of Trinity Services Group was also arrested in September 2016 for allegedly hugging an inmate. The investigation revealed she had communicated with the inmate through an internal prison email system.
