Driftwood artwork auctioned to help child with cancer

(Baonghean.vn) - On August 28, Thanh Chuong Charity Club ended the auction of a driftwood work to help Lo Thi Minh Anh in Cha Luan village, Ngoc Lam commune (Thanh Chuong) who has cancer.

Lo Thi Minh Anh (born 2011), daughter of Lo Van Ngan and Lo Thi Thanh, has breast cancer. Her family is in a very difficult situation (poor, struggling to make ends meet). Her father suffers from depression and is afraid of strangers. Her mother works as a weed hoe. Neither her father nor her mother can speak Kinh. Her family cannot afford to take her to the hospital.

Knowing the pitiful situation of Minh Anh, Thanh Chuong Charity Club organized a call for donations to help her. One of the many kind-hearted people sent the club an 80cm high driftwood work with a distinctive fragrance, meticulously crafted and beautifully crafted, to auction and contribute to the fund.

After 3 days of online auction, at noon on August 28, this work was awarded to a family in Thanh Chuong district (name withheld) for 5 million VND.

A representative of Thanh Chuong Charity Club said that the money from the auction of the driftwood work, along with the money raised, will be used by the club to support Minh Anh with additional funds for medical treatment. In the near future, some members of the club will complete the procedures and directly take Minh Anh to the provincial Friendship General Hospital for examination, then take him to Ho Chi Minh City for treatment.
