David Moyes was sacked in Spain.

The former Man Utd manager has been forced to resign for the second time in 19 months.

Real Sociedad announced their decision to sack Moyes today, November 9th, three days after the Scottish manager's team lost 0-2 away to Las Palmas.

That result was Sociedad's fourth defeat in their last five La Liga matches, leaving the renowned Basque club rooted in 16th place in the La Liga standings, only above the relegation zone thanks to a superior goal difference.

In their 11 La Liga matches this season, Moyes' Sociedad have only won two and haven't even tasted victory at home. This represents a significant decline from last season, when the Scottish manager led them to a 12th-place finish.

When La Liga resumes play after the upcoming international break, Sociedad will face Sevilla, the reigning Europa League champions, and then Barca, the reigning Champions League champions. The Basque club has therefore decided to part ways with Moyes early to find a new manager and give him more time to prepare for the two difficult matches ahead.

This is the second time in 19 months that Moyes has had to leave before the end of his contract. He was sacked by Man Utd on April 22, 2014, due to a series of poor results for the Red Devils. Seven months later, Moyes moved to Spain to take over as head coach of Sociedad, on a contract valid until June 2016.

During his year managing Sociedad, Moyes coached 42 matches, winning 12, a win rate of 28.57% - the lowest in his coaching career. Among those 12 wins, Moyes was at one point a sensation in Spain when he led Sociedad to a 1-0 victory over mighty Barcelona on January 4, 2015.
