Strengthening cooperation in tourism development between Nghe An and Dak Lak.

Attending the conference, on behalf of Dak Lak province were: Ms. H'Yim Kđok – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Thai Hong Ha – Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives from provincial departments, agencies and tourism businesses.

Representing Nghe An province were: Mr. Bui Dinh Long – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Director of the Department of Tourism; representatives from provincial departments, agencies, and tourism businesses in the area.

In his welcoming remarks at the conference, Mr. Bui Dinh Long, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, stated: Nghe An and Dak Lak are two provinces with diverse and rich natural and human resources, creating advantages for the development of tourism in each province.

Despite their geographical distance, the Vinh – Buon Ma Thuot flight route has facilitated travel and visits between the two provinces for residents and tourists. Seizing this opportunity, the tourism sectors of both provinces proactively signed and implemented a cooperation program for tourism development. Furthermore, the unique and distinctive tourism destinations and products of the two provinces, which complement each other, have contributed to the growth in tourist exchanges between the two provinces in recent years.

Dak Lak is one of the favorite destinations for people from Nghe An. And Nghe An identifies the Central Highlands in general and Dak Lak in particular as a target domestic tourist market that the tourism industry hopes to further promote in the coming time.

Over the years, the Nghe An Department of Tourism and the Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism have jointly signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in tourism development between the two localities, mainly focusing on four areas: cooperation in exchanging information on tourism development; cooperation in developing tourism products; cooperation in promoting and advertising tourism; and cooperation in planning and attracting investment.

The two localities have supported each other in promoting tourism at local cultural and political events; actively participated in conferences, fairs, and exhibitions hosted by other provinces; and jointly set up booths at tourism seminars and fairs.

Regular exchanges on tourism promotion, investment cooperation, and tourism development policies of each locality are essential to ensure timely updates and provide the most accurate information, thereby promoting the image of tourism to the public. Information is periodically exchanged on the implementation of cooperation plans signed by both localities. In addition, businesses and investors from both localities have collaborated in investing in and developing numerous tourism projects and facilities.

In the coming period, the two localities will continue to maintain the agreed-upon mechanism in the tourism development cooperation program between the two sides, which is still in effect. They will coordinate and cooperate in participating in domestic and international tourism fairs and exhibitions in diverse and varied forms to create a special mark for the tourism program between the two sides.

In her closing remarks at the conference, Ms. H'Yim Kđok, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province, expressed her hope that in the future, the two localities would regularly conduct reviews, summaries, evaluations, and draw lessons learned to propose new development solutions. She emphasized the need for innovation in approach, linkages, and development so that tourists traveling between the two localities can benefit from common preferential policies and services commensurate with each locality's strengths. She also suggested organizing delegations to survey tourism products, connecting with tourism businesses in both provinces, and creating conditions for localities in the region to become familiar destinations for domestic and international tourists.
