Accelerating recovery and boosting tourism development in Vietnam.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 15th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held an online conference to disseminate new documents aimed at accelerating the recovery and development of Vietnam's tourism industry in an effective and sustainable manner.
The conference was held online, connecting with 61 locations in provinces and cities across the country.
Presiding at the central location were: Mr. Doan Van Viet – Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh – Director General of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration; and Mr. Ha Van Sieu – Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration.
Also attending were leaders from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and leaders from the Vietnam National Tourism Administration.
At the Nghe An location, the following officials co-chaired the meeting: Bui Dinh Long – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and Nguyen Manh Cuong – Director of the Department of Tourism.
Also attending were representatives from provincial departments, agencies, and units, as well as representatives from several businesses in the province.

At the conference, Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, reported on solutions for effective and sustainable tourism recovery and acceleration in accordance with Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP and the Vietnam Tourism Marketing Strategy to 2030.
Specifically, this focuses on concretizing the tasks assigned by the Government to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP on key tasks and solutions to accelerate the recovery and development of tourism effectively and sustainably. This aims to create consensus and high levels of agreement in awareness and action across the entire tourism industry, related sectors, localities, businesses, and the people, so that tourism development can be focused and prioritized.

The key tasks identified are: promoting the restructuring of the tourism industry towards quality, modernity, and sustainability; continuing to facilitate the attraction of international tourists; strengthening investment attraction for tourism development; developing tourism communication, promotion, and marketing products; supporting tourism businesses; improving the quality of human resources; and accelerating the implementation of digital transformation…
At the conference, delegates also heard reports on several models of night-time tourism products. The overall goal is to leverage the advantages of Vietnam's diverse, unique, sustainable, high-quality, and value-added night-time services. This aims to affirm the brand and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnam as a tourist destination, increase visitor numbers, boost spending, and extend the length of stay for tourists.

Also at the conference, delegates discussed solutions for effectively implementing Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP, the Vietnam Tourism Marketing Strategy, and the model for developing night-time tourism products.
In his concluding remarks at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, requested that localities continue to innovate their thinking on tourism development; develop tourism comprehensively and extensively, establish the Vietnam tourism brand; and promptly develop and implement a plan to carry out Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP…
Since the beginning of 2023, Nghe An province has implemented many activities to restore and develop tourism, with particular attention paid to tourism promotion and marketing. The opening activity for the 2023 tourism season was participation in the VITM Hanoi International Tourism Fair to introduce and promote tourism products in the province, inviting travel companies to cooperate in bringing and receiving tourists.
To expand cooperation and develop tourism, Nghe An province organized a Famtrip delegation to survey tourist routes and destinations and combine it with working visits to Gwangju city, South Korea.
In particular, a notable achievement of Nghe An's tourism sector is the recommendation to the Provincial People's Committee to issue a Decision approving the "Nghe An Tourism Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2035".
In the first seven months of the year, the total number of tourists reached 5.95 million (119% compared to the same period in 2022), of which over 3.91 million were overnight visitors (124% compared to the same period in 2022); international visitors totaled 38,500. Total revenue from tourism reached VND 14,521 billion, of which tourism revenue was estimated at VND 5,657 billion (141% compared to the same period in 2022).
