We propose prioritizing investment in western Nghe An province.

On the afternoon of December 10th, the discussion session of Group 6, comprising provincial People's Council delegates elected from the three districts of Que Phong, Quy Hop, and Quy Chau, was very lively. Many practical suggestions were recorded, particularly those aimed at improving the lives of ethnic minorities in mountainous areas.

At the beginning of the discussion, delegate Nguyen Dinh Minh expressed dissatisfaction with some aspects of the report. Specifically, regarding the issue of many projects being implemented slowly, not yet having their licenses revoked, or having been extended but not yet implemented.

"The report needs to clarify which projects are delayed and how many have been revoked. This assessment is too general," Mr. Minh said. The representative also argued that the current traffic safety corridor regulations are not being handled thoroughly. Authorities finish their work, but then things go back to how they were before.

Numerous apartment buildings are springing up in Vinh City, but without parking spaces, residents are forced to park on the streets. Mr. Minh suggested that the authorities should study the issue and ensure security, order, and traffic safety. The representative also expressed concern about the continued prevalence of substandard and counterfeit goods. He urged relevant agencies to strictly manage and take firm measures to address this situation, especially during the Tet holiday.

Furthermore, Mr. Minh also suggested that Nghe An province should focus more investment on remote and disadvantaged districts, as the lives of people in these areas are currently very difficult.

Sharing this view, delegate Le Van Giap argued that Western Nghe An has many advantages but its development is very slow, and to date, no solutions have been found. “Although we have many projects to develop the western region, the projects are completed but lack resources. Furthermore, there is no specific mechanism to attract investment here. For example, in Que Phong, many projects are stalled,” said the Chairman of the People's Committee of Que Phong district.

Sharing the same vision for the development of the Mekong Delta, many delegates also suggested gradually reducing the forest cover. This is because the people are facing a severe shortage of land for production due to the vast forest area.

During the group discussion, delegate Vuong Quang Minh stated that the restructuring in the agricultural sector and the management by state agencies have not been decisive enough. He suggested that the government needs to be more decisive in order to leverage advantages, especially in the western region of Nghe An province.

Mr. Minh also suggested that more resources should be prioritized for developing tourism and preserving historical and cultural relics of ethnic minority communities, in order to develop community-based tourism.

Meanwhile, delegate Vo Thi Minh Sinh stated that, according to feedback from voters, many commune health stations currently lack doctors, especially in remote areas. Ms. Sinh requested that the Health Department provide a detailed report on which communes have doctors and which do not, in order to develop specific solutions. Furthermore, during the group discussion, many delegates expressed concern about Nghe An's outstanding tax debts and requested that relevant authorities strengthen management and promptly recover the outstanding debts.
