To ensure all union members and workers have a warm and fulfilling Lunar New Year.
The Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor and its affiliated unions at all levels are carrying out many activities to support union members and workers in particularly difficult circumstances so that they can have a warm and fulfilling Tet holiday.
Focus on the grassroots, the workers
On January 7th and 8th, the Department of Health and the Trade Union of the Health Sector of Nghe An Province conducted inspections of disease prevention and control activities; medical examinations and treatment before the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025; and visited, encouraged, and supported medical staff at the Health Centers of Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, and Ky Son districts.
During a visit to encourage and support staff and workers at three medical centers facing difficult circumstances, leaders from the Department of Health and the Health Sector Trade Union shared their understanding of the sacrifices and hardships faced in their work and daily lives; they also expressed their hope that the units would continue to do a good job of caring for the lives of their staff and employees.
Received a giftTetFrom the Provincial Labor Federation, the Nghe An Department of Health, and the Nghe An Health Workers' Union, Ms. Vi Thi Anh, an employee of the Con Cuong District Health Center, shared: “I am very grateful for the concern and support from the leaders of the Department, the industry union, and the health staff of Nghe An. These gifts are very practical and give me and my family more motivation to strive forward.”
According to Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha, Chairwoman of the Nghe An Health Sector Trade Union: Statistics show that the entire sector currently has 565 officials and employees facing difficult circumstances. With the motto "everyone should have a warm Tet holiday," the Provincial Labor Federation, the Nghe An Department of Health, and the Health Sector Trade Union have provided 565 gifts (total value nearly 500 million VND) to support and encourage these officials and employees, helping them celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025 in a warm and joyful atmosphere.
The Health sector will also organize a "Tet Reunion" program and give gifts at the Nghe An Dermatology Hospital in the near future. Currently, the lives of 33 staff members and workers at this hospital are facing many difficulties (no additional income; salaries are delayed for 9 months).
Following the directives of the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor, at this time, not only the Health Sector Labor Union but all levels of labor unions in the province have been mobilizing all resources and effectively organizing activities to provide practical care, both materially and spiritually, for union members and workers; ensuring that all union members and workers have a joyful, meaningful, warm, and harmonious Tet holiday.
On December 31, 2024, the Dien Chau District Labor Union, in coordination with Mareep Co., Ltd. (Dien Thinh commune, Dien Chau district), organized the "Tet Reunion - Spring Gratitude to the Party" program for 1,200 workers at the company. The program was lively with many cultural activities celebrating the Lunar New Year, a lucky draw, and over 100 valuable gifts presented to the company's employees. On this occasion, the Dien Chau District Labor Union donated 60 gift packages, and the Dien Chau District Youth Union donated 10 gift packages to workers in difficult circumstances.
Trade union branches in the province have actively guided workers in the area to participate in online shopping at the 2025 Trade Union Tet Market organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Accordingly, 3,500 workers and laborers in the province who are union members with outstanding achievements in labor and production, participation in trade union activities, and union members facing difficulties and low incomes were given shopping vouchers, each worth 500,000 VND, totaling 1.75 billion VND.
With over 1,600 items, workers have many shopping options on the online Trade Union Tet Market program. Ms. Pham Thi Nghia, a worker in the GFT department of TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company in Nghia Dan district (a single mother raising two children in high school), shared: “I wasn't tech-savvy before, but thanks to the specific guidance from the trade union officials, I knew how to access the shopping site and with just a few simple steps, I ordered a rice cooker. I received the goods after only 3 days. Thank you to the trade union officials for their thoughtful and dedicated service.”
Mobilize all resources to ensure a happy Lunar New Year.
With the motto "no union member or worker should be left without a Tet holiday",Nghe An Provincial Federation of LaborThe Provincial Labor Union has issued a plan to organize activities to care for union members and workers during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025. Accordingly, the Provincial Labor Union requests districts, cities, towns, and sectors to balance regular annual revenue and expenditure, existing operating funds, or funds allocated from higher levels to provide care for union members and workers at grassroots unions according to the allocated number.
Local trade unions should balance their regular annual income and expenditure and utilize the unit's accumulated trade union funds to carry out activities to care for union members and workers during Tet (Lunar New Year). They should coordinate with employers and, based on available resources, organize New Year's greetings for some workers and union members who return to work as soon as possible after the Tet holiday. Furthermore, trade unions at all levels should actively exchange information, expand relationships, and mobilize support from organizations, businesses, local authorities, and individuals to provide resources for caring for union members and workers during the Lunar New Year.
The beneficiaries of Tet holiday support are all union members and workers. Priority is given to union members and workers with particularly difficult circumstances, those who have suffered work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, been affected by natural disasters, storms and floods, have had their working hours reduced, lost their jobs, or are owed wages and bonuses; union members and workers from policy beneficiary families, ethnic minorities, and those who have not had the opportunity to return home for Tet for many years; and workers who remain at their units or enterprises to work during Tet.
The Provincial Federation of Labor also directed trade union organizations in the province to organize many meaningful activities to care for union members, civil servants, and workers in diverse and flexible forms, suitable to the specific situation and the needs and desires of union members and workers. These care activities must be practical, safe, effective, economical, and in accordance with regulations, creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere among union members and workers. With the spirit of "it's not the gift itself, but the way it's given," the Provincial Federation of Labor encouraged grassroots trade unions in enterprises with a large number of workers to research ways to give gifts to workers in practical and approachable ways, creating a positive effect.
On the part of the Provincial Labor Union, this occasion will also organize a series of activities with the theme "Tet Reunion – Spring of Gratitude to the Party" at two locations: the Labor Culture House and the WHA Industrial Park under the Southeast Economic Zone Labor Union. The program at the Provincial Labor Culture House is organized to share, accompany, and encourage the team of cadres, civil servants, and public employees in the administrative and public service sector. During the program, the Provincial Labor Union will honor 95 exemplary Party members representing thousands of workers and laborers directly involved in production and business in various agencies, units, and enterprises throughout the province. The "Tet Reunion" program for workers and laborers at the WHA Industrial Park will provide more than 2,000 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. This program will also be attended by leaders from the Central Government.
With all its efforts and dedication, the trade union organization has been meticulously attending to every activity, mobilizing all resources to ensure that its members, workers, and laborers have a truly warm and joyful Tet holiday, so that each member feels the care, sharing, and support of the trade union organization.
