Math test is within the candidates' ability, candidates hope their test scores will improve

The male student shared that the Math exam had 5 questions, in which questions 1, 2, 3 were algebraic and question 4a was geometry, which he had no difficulty finding the answer to. However, the second part of question 4b and question 4c made him have difficulty and he was not satisfied with his work. The last question 5 about arithmetic, which was worth 0.5 points, he found difficult and still could not solve it until the end of the class. He predicted that if he was lucky and graded the entire test, he would get 8 - 8.5 points.

Mai Hoang Thuong (student of Truong Thi Secondary School) also predicted that she would get 8 points in Math but was still a bit sad because it was not as expected.

“I think this year’s Math test is easier than last year’s and easier than the mock test. Therefore, if the score of 9 this year is equivalent to the score of 8 last year, while the admission score to Huynh Thuc Khang High School is quite high, an average of 8 points per subject is certain. Yesterday, I did not do very well in the Literature test, but I got about 9 points or more in English. With this result, I will think, consider and consult my teachers to see if I should change my wishes or not,” Thuong shared.

Meanwhile, Tran Dinh Sang (Hung Dung Secondary School) was excited and confident that he would get over 9 points and if he was lucky, he would get 9.5 points. He thought that the most difficult question in the test was question 5, which he could not do yet, but he still wrote down the steps to solve in his paper. He had completed questions 1 to 4. This year's test was not necessarily easier than last year's, but he felt confident in his work. In particular, question 4c on geometry took him a bit of time because it was difficult to think of a solution even though it was basic knowledge. When he calmed down and read the question and the drawing carefully, he was able to do it.

Commenting on the Math exam, teacher Tran Son Hong - teacher at Dang Thai Mai Secondary School (Vinh City) said: The exam was in accordance with the exam structure in Official Dispatch No. 656/ SGD&DT - GDTrH dated March 30, 2023 of the Department of Education and Training. In particular, the basic part of the exam was quite easy, expressed clearly and concisely.

The test is highly differentiated and not too difficult in the high-level application ideas. The differentiated ideas include question 2b, calculating the value of the expression containing the solution of a quadratic equation. This test requires the use of the downgrading technique. Question 4, from question 2, question b, requires students to use thinking techniques well, especially using the upward analysis diagram, building equivalent propositions. Question 5, good students can get points back, good students will have the opportunity to get 10 points.

With this year's exam, teacher Nguyen Son Hong predicts that the score range will be high and the number of scores 9 and above will be higher than every year.

According to regulations, the Math exam ended at 10:00, but before that, at the exam sites, some candidates left before the time to submit their papers.

Candidate Le Anh Hung, Nghia Thuan Secondary School (Thai Hoa Town) said that before taking part in this exam, he had solved the exam questions from previous years. According to him, the Math exam had clear differentiation. However, if any student had reviewed and grasped the basic knowledge, it would be easy to get an average score.

“I think I can do about 80% of this test. The hardest part is geometry, so I'm not very confident,” Hung commented.

Nguyen Thi Ha - a student at Nghia Phu Secondary School (Nghia Dan) who also registered for the May 1 High School exam, worriedly said: "I learned Math, finished the test 30 minutes early but still could not do all the questions related to geometry. I did all the remaining questions, definitely correct. I think I got about 8 points."

Commenting on the Math exam, the 10th grade entrance exam, teacher Nguyen Thi Phuong - teacher at Quang Tien Secondary School (Thai Hoa Town) commented: The exam structure is the same as every year, including 5 questions revolving around familiar knowledge units. The knowledge units are all in the student's program, with practical problems and applications to promote students' abilities.

In Anh Son district, student Nguyen Thi Linh registered to take the exam at the Anh Son 1 High School Examination Council and said: I think this year's Math exam is mainly based on the curriculum that has been studied and reviewed, the basic questions are suitable for the average learning ability of students. The last questions are for advanced levels, classifying candidates. To do these questions, candidates must have a firm grasp of theoretical and advanced knowledge. Personally, I am confident that I will get over 7 points in Math, because the exam is on par with the mock exams that my teachers have reviewed for me at school.

Nguyen Thi Hien, who took the exam at the Anh Son 3 High School Examination Council, shared: I am not too worried about the results of the Math subject because this is my strong subject. In the exam, there are 5 questions, and I see that from question 4 onwards, the geometry part is classified so that candidates can get good scores. The above questions are easy to score but require carefulness and reading the questions carefully. It took me about 100 minutes to do the test, the remaining 20 minutes to check my work. I hope to get 8 points in Math.

At the exam site of Thanh Chuong 1 High School, Phan Duy Ngoc Minh, a 9A student at Thanh Phong Middle School, shared: I found the Math exam closely followed the general education program and had a moderate level of difficulty. I did about 80%. I think my answer was about 7.5 points.

Tran Huu Hoang, a 9C student at Ton Quang Phiet Secondary School, is an excellent student in Math in the province. He is more excited because he did his test quite well. According to Hoang, his test will probably get 9 points. "I am very happy because I did well in all 3 subjects. After this exam, I will continue to take the exam at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted," Hoang said.

After the math exam, candidates in Do Luong left the exam site under the scorching heat. However, many students still stayed behind to discuss their test results with their friends.

Student Nguyen Huu Quang Minh from Vo Thi Sau Secondary School happily said: "This year's Math exam was quite difficult, but I did almost all of it, only half of question 4."

Standing with a group of friends in the shade of a tree to avoid the sun, Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang - Xuan Son Secondary School said: "I did question 4a, but I'm not sure. My classmates did question 4b."

Through information gathering, most of the excellent students completed the test, typically students from Ly Nhat Quang Secondary School. Nguyen Minh Quan, a student from Ly Nhat Quang Secondary School, commented: "The easy questions in this year's test are: 1a, 2a, 1b, 1c, 3a, 3b, 4a, 2b".

Most of the candidates left the Quy Hop High School exam site in an excited mood. Candidate Dang Tien Dung (student of Quy Hop Town Middle School) said: “This year’s Math exam was within our ability, including basic knowledge that has been thoroughly reviewed by teachers. I completed most of the questions and spent time reviewing my work. I believe I can get a score of 7.5-8 points.”

Also leaving with a smile, candidate Nguyen Sy Bang (student of Chau Quang Secondary School) shared, “This year’s Math exam was not too difficult, only question 4b of the geometry test, question 5 was a bit difficult for me. But I am still confident that I will get an 8.”

With some regret, candidate Nguyen Quang Dung - Chau Quang Secondary School said that he made a little mistake in the practical math problem question 4 about geometry. He hoped to get 7 points in Math.

In general, candidates all shared the same opinion that the Math test was within their ability, and many predicted that they would get high scores on this test. Many parents were excited to see their children finish the test easily and comfortably.

Regarding the exam, teacher Hoang Thi Anh Dao - from the Math Department of Quy Hop Town Secondary School commented, "The structure of the exam is stable compared to previous school years, including 5 lessons. Students are not surprised by the Math exam.

The exam is suitable for the structure of the Department, with the teachers' review for students. Moreover, this school year the exam has added a practical question and it is not too difficult for students to get points from this question. This year, the score for the last question has decreased, so average and good students will have the opportunity to get more points compared to previous years."

At High SchoolCon Cuong, the last day of the exam, the weather was quite favorable for the candidates as the sun was no longer harsh. Stepping out of the exam room, the candidates felt quite relieved because they had completed the 10th grade entrance exam. However, besides that, the pressure of admission also made many candidates worried.

Luong Thuy Dung, a student at Mau Don Secondary School, said: The math test this morning was moderately difficult for me. Just by looking at the test, I felt it would be easy to solve. Of the 5 questions, I found the first 4 easy, and the last question the most difficult. Overall, the test was quite close to the general education program. If you have a firm grasp of the knowledge, you will be able to do the test and get a good score. With my learning ability, I was able to do almost everything.

After finishing the Math exam, Dung predicted that she would get a 7. With this score and her efforts in the previous exams, Dung hoped to pass the 10th grade.

Also leaving the exam site, Luong Van Thanh - a student at Yen Khe Secondary School shared: I reviewed carefully, but did not do very well on the test. After finishing the Math exam, I felt less pressured. I thought I would pass the class.Grade 10but the results are not high.

Thus, after nearly 2 days of exams, nearly 39,000 candidates in Nghe An have completed the 10th grade entrance exam. According to the new regulations of this year's exam, after completing 3 subjects, the admission system will open for candidates to change their admission wishes to high schools, Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers, Continuing Education Centers within 4 days from June 7 to June 10, 2023, so that candidates can change their wishes online.

According to the report of the Department of Education and Training, in the two days of the 10th grade exam, the whole province had 38,948 candidates registered to take the exam. The number of absent candidates: 87.

This year's exam had 4 candidates violating the exam regulations for the same reason of bringing phones into the exam room. They were candidates at the Quynh Luu 1 High School Examination Council, Dang Thai Mai High School Examination Council and 02 candidates at Le Viet Thuat High School Examination Council.

No exam supervisors violated exam regulations, no other unusual incidents occurred. The exam took place normally, safely and in accordance with regulations.

According to the plan of the Department of Education and Training, on June 18, the Department will announce the exam results.
