(Baonghean.vn) - With many great values, the temple of King Mai Hac De in Nam Dan town has been classified by the State as a Special National Historical Monument.

According to historical documents, King Mai Hac De, whose real name was Mai Thuc Loan, was born and raised in Ngoc Trung village, Dong Liet commune, now Nam Thai commune (his ancestral home was Mai Phu village, Loc Ha district, Ha Tinh province). In 713, he led the Hoan Chau uprising to overthrow the Tang dynasty's rule and establish the Van An state (713-722). Today, within the complex of relics related to King Mai in Nam Dan, there are two main places of worship: the temple dedicated to King Mai Hac De and the tomb of King Mai in Nam Dan town. The temple dedicated to King Mai Hac De was established by the people long ago and was built in a grand style during the Nguyen dynasty. To date, the temple has undergone many renovations and restorations, and currently includes the following structures: the triple gate, waiting house, upper hall, middle hall, lower hall... According to Decision No. 1649/QD-TTg dated December 29, 2022, of the Prime Minister, the temple of King Mai Hac De in Nam Dan town has been recognized as a Special National Historical Monument. On the occasion of the 1310th anniversary of the Hoan Chau Uprising and the 2023 King Mai Temple Festival, the leaders and people of Nam Dan district will have the honor of receiving the Certificate of Recognition for the temple of King Mai Hac De as a Special National Historical Monument.
