Thatch grass grows in clumps in nature, developing rapidly and is abundant on the hillsides and vast forests of the area. This year, the warmer weather has been favorable for the villagers to go into the forest to collect thatch grass. At this time, in the communes surrounding Muong Xen town, along the roadsides and in open areas, every available space is being used as a processing and drying area for thatch grass. With the Lunar New Year approaching, the income from thatch grass will help the people cover their expenses and buy things to celebrate a more prosperous and warm Tet holiday.
