A woman died after her boat capsized while she was mowing the lawn.
(Baonghean.vn) - A husband and wife were rowing a boat carrying grass home when a whirlpool capsized the boat. As a result, the wife was swept away by the water and died.
The incident occurred on the morning of June 7, 2022, in the Hieu River basin, in the Bai Ke area of Dong Hop commune, Quy Hop district.
Early in the morning, Vy Thi Ly and Ho Van Thanh, both born in 1986 and residing in Dong Song hamlet, Dong Hop commune, Quy Hop district, went to cut grass on the other side of the river.Hieu RiverLocated in Nghia Mai commune, Nghia Dan district.
After finishing mowing the grass, at around 8:30 a.m., the couple loaded the grass onto their boat and rowed across the river back home. When they reached the middle of the river, the deep, swirling water, combined with the small size of the boat and the heavy load of grass, caused it to capsize.

Seeing this, some people present at the scene rushed down to rescue them, but due to the great distance, the swirling water, and the depth, they were only able to save the husband; the wife was swept away by the current.
Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam, Chairman of the Dong Hop Commune People's Committee, said that after hearing the news, the local authorities reported it to the district and mobilized police and military forces to coordinate with the people in searching for the victim. At 11:30 AM the same day, the wife's body was found.
The family and local authorities have now brought the deceased's body home for burial according to local customs.
