Traveling for the April 30th holiday: Some flights are completely sold out, and prices continue to rise.

According to updated information on flight bookings and ticket sales as of April 26th, compiled by the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority from various airlines, for flights departing from Hanoi on April 28th to tourist destinations such as Dong Hoi, Buon Ma Thuot, Con Dao, and Rach Gia, the booking rate has reached over 90%.

FromHanoiFlights to Hue, Pleiku, and Can Tho have a booking rate of over 80%, while flights to Cam Ranh, Da Nang, Da Lat, Phu Quoc, Tuy Hoa, and Binh Dinh have rates ranging from 65% to 77%.

However, on April 29th (the start of the holiday), except for flights to Da Nang, according to the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority, flights from Hanoi to tourist destinations such as Dong Hoi, Buon Ma Thuot, Pleiku, Hue, Phu Quoc, Tuy Hoa, Binh Dinh, Can Tho, and Con Dao all had booking rates above 90% and close to 100%.

FromHo Chi Minh CityFlights to Phu Quoc, Tuy Hoa, Binh Dinh, and Con Dao were almost fully booked on April 29th, while flights to Da Nang, Hanoi, and Dong Hoi were only at an average capacity.

For April 28th, except for flights to Tuy Hoa and Binh Dinh which had booking rates above 90%, flights to other tourist destinations were only at 70-80%.

Conversely, as the holiday period draws to a close, on May 2nd, the routes with high booking rates, over 90%, to Hanoi include Buon Ma Thuot, Ca Mau, Tuy Hoa, Con Dao, and Dong Hoi, and to Ho Chi Minh City include Phu Quoc, Tuy Hoa, Van Don, and Vinh.

By May 3rd (the end of the holiday period), the booking rate was over 90% for flights from Buon Ma Thuot, Tuy Hoa, Binh Dinh, Con Dao, Dong Hoi, and Ca Mau to Hanoi, and from Chu Lai, Tuy Hoa, Binh Dinh, and Vinh to Ho Chi Minh City.

According to a survey of airfare prices on several routes on Vietnamese airlines' ticketing systems, prices decreased slightly, by about 10-15% compared to two weeks prior, on April 29th and the opposite direction on May 3rd.

However, this reduction only applies to certain evening flights or on routes where many flights still have unfilled seats.

Meanwhile, some flights from Hanoi and Saigon to Phu Quoc, Cam Ranh, or Hanoi to Quy Nhon/Hue/Tuy Hoa/Dong Hoi,... (and the reverse routes) are sold out or ticket prices remain at the same level, or even slightly increased compared to two weeks ago for the few flights that still have tickets available.

For example, on the Hanoi - Tuy Hoa route, a round-trip ticket departing on April 29th and returning on May 3rd costs nearly 7.3 million VND. This price is double the usual price, a 15% increase compared to two weeks ago, and comparable to the price of long-haul flights to destinations like Phu Quoc or Nha Trang. Flights are also very limited, with only one outbound flight and two return flights, and a limited number of seats. Flights from Ho Chi Minh City are completely sold out.

For the Hanoi - Dong Hoi route, the ticket price is also nearly 4 million VND, with only afternoon flights available and evening return flights.

Ticket prices will only be significantly reduced by 30% or more compared to the previously announced prices on the days before, after, and during holidays such as April 26-27-30 and May 1-2-4-5 on all tourist routes.
