Taking graduation photos, 3 students drowned, 2 missing

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 9, a group of students went to take graduation photos on Lan Chau Island, Cua Lo. While swimming in the sea, 3 students drowned, 2 are still missing.

Initial information said that today, Sunday, the group of students of class 12A6 of Le Hong Phong High School (Hung Nguyen) went swimming and took graduation photos. While swimming in the beach area near Lan Chau Island, 3 students in the class were drowned by the waves.

Discovering the incident, people at sea quickly tried to rescue them. Immediately after, a student named An was brought to shore, while two other students named Thanh and Chuong were missing.

Upon receiving the information, local forces and Nghe An Border Guards were also present at the scene to coordinate search and rescue.

Mr. Ho Van Hoang - Secretary of the Youth Union of Le Hong Phong High School said: He, the school leaders and the homeroom teacher of class 12A6 are present at the scene.

As of 7pm on April 9, rescuers had not yet found the two missing students. The authorities and school are currently hiring additional personnel to search for them.
