Three people were killed by lightning while digging a grave.

While digging a grave to prepare for a villager's funeral, all three people in Quang Binh were tragically struck by lightning and died instantly.

On the afternoon of May 9th, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province, stated that at approximately 1 PM that same day, three men were struck by lightning and died while digging graves in Hung Trach commune (Bo Trach district).

At that time, five local residents were digging a grave in the Con Quanh cemetery area of ​​Khuong Ha - 2 village, Hung Trach commune, to prepare for the burial of Mr. Tran Van Hanh, a local resident who had unfortunately passed away earlier, when a sudden, widespread thunderstorm with lightning struck.

While digging graves, Mr. Tran Van Dieu (born in 1974, residing in Khuong Ha 2 village), Mr. Tran Van Thien (born in 1973, residing in Khuong Ha 3 village), and Mr. Tran Xuan Vinh (born in 1988, residing in Khuong Ha 1 village) were unfortunately struck by lightning and died instantly.

Two other people were injured and are currently receiving first aid and treatment from doctors at the Hung Trach Commune Health Station.

Local authorities are currently coordinating with the victims' families to arrange funerals and burials according to local customs.
