Four households urgently relocated due to landslide on Pù Mẹo mountain in Quế Phong.
In Nam Giai commune, Que Phong district, a landslide occurred on September 29th, posing a danger to residents. Local authorities have organized the relocation of people and property from households living near this dangerous area.
According to information from the Nậm Giải commune authorities, a landslide occurred at Pù Mẹo mountain in Pục village on the afternoon of September 29th, with soil falling close to residential houses. This village is prone to landslides in the area.

Immediately after receiving the report and assessing the level of danger, the local authorities organized the relocation of people and property from four households to a safe place.
Besides the landslide, Mount Pù Mẹo also has a fairly large crack, nearly 50 meters long. If it continues to rain in the coming days, there is a risk that this mass of soil will collapse at any time.

Mr. Bui Van Hien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Que Phong district, said: Currently, the district has directed Nam Giai commune to coordinate with local forces to relocate people and property, and provide safe accommodation for the residents.

“Nam Giai commune is a locality where landslides frequently occur in the district, especially affecting households living along the only road leading to the commune center. Therefore, the district has directed the commune to monitor weather conditions and assign personnel to be on duty 24/7 at vulnerable points to promptly handle any situations. In the long term, if the landslide situation becomes more complex, solutions will be needed to relocate residents to safer areas.”
