Mr. Nguyen Van Viet, one of the long-time residents of Xuan Lam 2 fishing village, shared while packing up his belongings: “From the previous Typhoon No. 5, we learned from experience and know how to secure our boats according to the wind direction, and move our tools and household items to a safe place. Last time we suffered a lot of damage and lost many fishing tools, so this time everyone is more cautious and trying to minimize losses.” (Photo: Dinh Tuyen)

Along with Hung Nguyen Nam, other low-lying areas along the Lam River are also focusing on implementing the "four on-the-spot" principle: on-the-spot command, on-the-spot forces, on-the-spot equipment, and on-the-spot logistics. Thanks to proactive early response, all storm prevention and control work for Typhoon No. 10 was implemented urgently but still maintained order, creating a sense of security for the people.
