While picking vegetables, a student tragically drowned.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 16th, a tragic drowning incident occurred in Hamlet 5, Thanh Chi Commune (Thanh Chuong District). The victim was Nguyen Van Trong (12 years old), son of Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia and Mrs. Ngo Thi Nhung from Hamlet 5.

Local residents said that this morning, Trong and Tran Thi Thao (10 years old, from the same village) went to pick vegetables in the field together. At noon, when Mr. Nghia's family was preparing to eat, they didn't see Trong return, so they rushed out to look for him.

At around 10:30 a.m., people in the neighborhood discovered Trong's sandals and some freshly gathered vegetables on the edge of the rice field behind Thanh Chi Secondary School, in the Cua Nuong field, about 500 meters from his house.

Trọng was pulled out of the water around 11 a.m., but he had already drowned.

Nguyen Van Trong is currently in class 6B at Thanh Chi Secondary School and is a diligent and excellent student. Trong is the second child in a poor family with two siblings.
