As the dengue fever epidemic enters its peak period, the Nghe An Department of Health requests increased efforts in epidemic prevention and control.

The Department of Health requests that all units implement infection control measures in accordance with regulations, and prevent outbreaks within medical examination and treatment facilities.

On July 22nd, the Nghe An Department of Health issued Official Letter No. 3109/SYT-NVY regarding strengthening measures.Dengue fever and hand, foot, and mouth disease prevention and control effortsand Covid-19 information sent to the Provincial Center for Disease Control, health centers, and public and private medical facilities.

The Department of Health requests that healthcare units strengthen communication measures (via loudspeakers, direct instruction, posters, leaflets, websites, fanpages, etc.) to ensure that patients, their families, healthcare workers, trainees, and interns understand the transmission routes of dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, and Covid-19, and take appropriate preventive measures. Priority should be given to communication with vulnerable groups such as children, people with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, and those caring for them.
Healthcare units guide patients, their families, healthcare workers, trainees, and interns on appropriate measures to prevent the spread of dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, and Covid-19.
Effectively carry out medical examinations, patient admissions, treatment, and timely emergency care; strengthen protection for high-risk patients; and minimize cases of severe illness and death.
Appropriate inpatient admissions should be made in accordance with diagnostic and treatment guidelines for dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, and COVID-19; patients should be advised and guided on how to care for mild cases at home according to diagnostic and treatment guidelines. Infection control measures should be implemented correctly to prevent outbreaks within healthcare facilities.
From the beginning of the year to July 2025, the entire province recorded 913 cases of Covid-19, an increase of 869 cases compared to the same period in 2024; 90 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease, an increase of 60 cases; 25 cases of dengue fever, a decrease of 49 cases...
At this time, Nghe An province in particular and Vietnam in general are entering the peak season for dengue fever.
