Immediately after the outbreak, the local authorities of Dien Thai commune destroyed the entire pig herd, including one sow and 13 piglets belonging to Mr. Kien's family, and implemented disease prevention and control measures in accordance with the regulations of the Veterinary Department.

According to observations by reporters on the afternoon of March 4th, in addition to the pigs already confirmed to be infected, it was found that at the household of Mr. Tran Trung Kien in Hamlet 2, Dien Thai Commune, there was also one sow and a litter of piglets that were sick, suspected of being infected with African swine fever.
