Food and beverage services contributed to a 0.12% increase in Nghe An's consumer price index.
Increased demand for food and food services was the main reason for the 0.12% increase in the consumer price index in Nghe An province in June compared to the previous month.
According to the Nghe An Provincial Statistics Office, the consumer price index in June 2024 increased by 0.12% compared to the previous month and by 5.81% compared to the same period last year.

Of the 11 main groups of goods and services, 7 groups saw price indices increase compared to the previous month: Housing, electricity, water and construction materials increased by 20.77%; Medicines and medical services increased by 5.56%; Other goods and services increased by 5.28%; Food and catering services increased by 3.88%; Beverages and tobacco increased by 2.81%; Culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 2.05%; Household equipment and appliances increased by 1.08%.
There were two product groups that saw price decreases compared to the previous month: Transportation, down 2.11%; and Clothing, hats, and footwear, down 0.3%.
There are two groups of goods whose indices remained unchanged compared to the previous month: Education and Postal and Telecommunications services.

On average, in the first six months of 2024, the consumer price index increased by 5.8% compared to the same period of the previous year. Eleven out of eleven commodity groups saw increases, including: Housing, electricity, water, fuel and building materials (up 20.77%); Medicines and medical services (up 5.56%); Other goods and services (up 5.28%); Transportation (up 4.32%); Food and catering services (up 3.88%); Beverages and tobacco (up 2.81%); Culture, entertainment and tourism (up 2.05%); Education (up 1.31%); Household equipment and appliances (up 1.08%); Clothing, hats and footwear (up 0.95%); and Postal and telecommunications services (up 0.12%).

The gold price index in June 2024 decreased by 1.72% compared to the previous month, but increased by 38.24% year-on-year. The average for the first six months of 2024 increased by 27% year-on-year. Domestic gold prices fluctuated in line with world gold prices.
The US dollar index rose 0.29% compared to the previous month and 5.33% year-on-year. The average for the first six months of 2024 was a 2.11% year-on-year increase.
