Landscape decoration service attracts customers near Tet

Having just completed a new, spacious 3-storey house, Ms. Nguyen Thuy An (Lat town, Tan Ky) will move in this Tet holiday. With the desire to decorate the house beautifully and brightly to welcome Tet and welcome relatives and friends, Ms. An contacted a local decor specialist to do the construction.

Ms. An said: “I want every corner of the living room, dining room or lobby to be a beautiful check-in spot for my brothers and friends when they come to visit. Therefore, I hired a decor service to work for 1 day at a cost of 10 million VND to decorate my house with the colors of Spring.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Hung Loc ward (Vinh city) chose to decorate the Tet landscape in his house with the desire to both create a highlight for the house and teach his children and grandchildren about the customs and practices of their ancestors on Tet to preserve and promote.

Mr. Binh said: “The Tet decoration in the house has been maintained for 5 years now. In previous years, when work was not too busy, the whole family went to choose materials and decorations to do it themselves. This year, there is a lot of work at the end of the year, so I hired someone to do the service. The decoration is quite simple, so with only 2 million VND, a corner of the miniature landscape on the doorstep is very eye-catching.”

If in the past, Tet landscape decoration was mainly in restaurants, cafes, amusement parks... to create impressive check-in points, attracting customers, now this trend has spread to agencies, units, schools and households. Since the beginning of December, Ms. Le Anh's interior decoration unit in Vinh city has been busy with orders for Tet landscape construction.

Ms. Anh said: “The shops start working very early to create a highlight to attract customers. After the full moon of December, agencies, units and schools have scheduled construction, and households start working after the 20th of December.

This December alone, our unit has received about 300 orders for Tet landscape construction. Our 20 workers work at full capacity from early morning to late evening to serve customers in time."

According to Ms. Anh, the construction is based on the customer's request, the unit will survey the actual space, come up with ideas for the customer and construct. Tet decoration products are made from domestic materials such as rattan, bamboo, paper, foam, velvet zinc... forming the shape of Chung cake, Tet cake, wishes, red envelopes, peach blossoms, apricot blossoms so they are quite cheap.

With 5 years of experience in the profession, Mr. Dong Van Trong (Dien Thanh town, Dien Chau) often undertakes decoration for families and classrooms with small spaces. According to Mr. Trong, when decorating, it must be based on the taste of the customer. Some people like to decorate Tet in a traditional, old-fashioned style, but others like to integrate modernity. Therefore, the stage of finding materials must be appropriate.

"Construction of small spaces only takes about 1 session or 1 day. The price also ranges from a few million VND including materials. Because each year the house is only "beautified" once during Tet, the homeowner prays for luck and peace in the year, so almost no one bargains about the price. However, we still try to have the most reasonable price, mainly taking the labor as profit", said Mr. Dong Van Trong.

Demand increases, so decorators are in high demand at this time, so their income also increases, about 700,000-1,000,000 VND/day or contracted for each order. After each Tet season, decorators earn tens of millions of VND.
