Salt farmers in Quynh Luu produced 32,000 tons of salt in 3 months.

(Baonghean.vn) - At this time, on some salt fields in Quynh Luu district, salt farmers are concentrating on salt production. Favorable weather conditions have led salt farmers to hope for a successful harvest.

Taking advantage of the favorable sunny weather, farmers in An Hoa commune, Quynh Luu district, are producing salt.

Quynh Luu is a locality with a large salt-producing area in Nghe An province, with nearly 600 hectares, concentrated in the communes of Quynh Yen, An Hoa, Quynh Minh, and Quynh Tho.

Traders are coming directly to the fields to buy salt from the farmers. Currently, the price of salt ranges from 1,000 to 1,200 VND per kilogram.

To increase the yield and income value of salt production, from the beginning of the season, Quynh Luu district has implemented many policies to encourage people to invest in upgrading and building water supply and drainage systems, improving drying areas, yards, and foundations, etc.

The district also encouraged farmers to boldly apply technological advancements to salt production, build brands for clean salt, iodized salt, etc., helping salt farmers feel secure in their production. Along with that, solutions were implemented to contact consuming factories to find stable outlets for the farmers.

In three months, the entire Quynh Luu district produced 32,000 tons of salt.

From March until now, the entire district has produced 32,000 tons of salt, reaching 47% of the plan. According to the 2016 plan, the entire district will produce 68,000 tons of salt.

Currently, the average price of salt is between 1,000 and 1,200 VND/kg, resulting in revenue of 32 billion VND from March to June.
