Highlighting the 'firsts' in V.League 2020
(Baonghean.vn) - Last weekend, the V.League 2020 officially kicked off on 7 pitches across the country with some quite exciting matches. Here are some interesting highlights from the opening round.
The player who scored the first goal.
Chau Ngoc Quang's goal against Than Quang Ninh (in the 56th minute) was the opening goal of this year's V.League. Thanks to the 1996-born midfielder's strike, HAGL secured a full three points on the opening day of the 2020 V.League. A rather impressive start for Nguyen Van Toan and his teammates.

Defender Le Quoc Huong of Duoc Nam Ha Nam Dinh was the first player to force his goalkeeper to pick the ball out of the net, with his inaccurate handling. While attempting to block a cross from Nguyen Van Quyet to Pape Omar, the player from Ha Tinh inadvertently put the ball into his own net, giving Hanoi FC the opening goal (in the 9th minute).

Viettel striker Bruno Cunha was the first player to miss a penalty. In the 63rd minute of the match between Hong Linh Ha Tinh and Viettel (0-1), the capital city team was awarded a penalty after a foul by a player from the home team. Unfortunately, Bruno Cunha failed to beat goalkeeper Duong Quang Tuan of the "Hong Mountain" team.

Two goals in just seven minutes (from minute 88 to minute 90+5) helped striker Nguyen Xuan Nam become the top scorer in the V.League 2020. Notably, in the match between Quang Nam and Ho Chi Minh City FC, held at Tam Ky Stadium on March 6th, the former Pho Hien player was only brought on as a substitute by coach Chung Hae-seong (replacing Nguyen Cong Phuong).

The match between Saigon FC and SLNA was the only game in the first round of the V.League 2020 to end in a draw. Although both Saigon FC and SLNA players put in a great effort, the 0-0 draw remained until the referee blew the final whistle. This was an acceptable result for both teams, especially Coach Ngo Quang Truong's team.
