The Otofun forum and the online newspaper Mot The Gioi have been fined.
On November 3, 2016, the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Information and Communications issued a decision to fine OTV Company (owner of the social networks otofun.net and otofun.net.vn) 15 million VND for failing to comply with the regulations in its social network establishment license.

Also on November 3rd, the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Decision No. 150/QD-XPVPHC imposing an administrative fine of 4 million VND on the online newspaper Mot The Gioi for publishing personal photos without the consent of Dr. Chiem Quoc Thai in the articles: “Dr. Chiem Quoc Thai’s wife: I’m terrified of my husband” on July 12, 2016, “Dr. Chiem Quoc Thai’s wife: When we first met, Mr. Thai had no money and was only allowed to assist in minor surgeries” on July 15, 2016, and Dr. Chiem Quoc Thai texting his wife: “I like to be unfaithful” on July 17, 2016.
In addition, the newspaper Một Thế Giới was fined 4 million VND for publishing personal documents (from Mr. Thái's personal account) without the consent of Mr. Thái and Ms. Võ Thị Hoàng Yến in the article "Wife of Doctor Chiêm Quốc Thái: When we first met, Mr. Thái had no money and was only allowed to assist in minor surgeries" on July 15, 2016.
The online newspaper Mot The Gioi has to pay a total fine of 8 million VND and is required to issue a correction in accordance with the law.
