Kremlin comments on NATO's goal of 'maintaining confrontation'
NATO once again confirmed its essence - it is an alliance created to maintain confrontation, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

“The North Atlantic alliance has once again very clearly confirmed its nature. This is an alliance that was created in a period of confrontation and with the aim of maintaining confrontation,” Mr. Peskov told reporters.
“We see that NATO's military infrastructure is constantly moving gradually towards our borders,” he said.
"That forces us to analyze very deeply the decisions made during the discussions, to analyze very carefully the content of the statement that was adopted. This is a very serious threat to the national security of our country. All this will require us to carefully consider, coordinate, and come up with effective countermeasures to deter NATO," Peskov said.
