The Kremlin comments on NATO's goal of 'maintaining confrontation'.
NATO has once again affirmed its true nature – that of an alliance founded to maintain confrontation, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary to the Russian President.
Peskov told reporters: “The North Atlantic Alliance has once again made its nature very clear. It is an alliance formed during a time of confrontation and with the aim of maintaining that confrontation.”
He said, "We see NATO's military infrastructure steadily moving toward our borders."
"This forces us to conduct a very in-depth analysis of the decisions made during the discussions, a very thorough analysis of the content of the adopted statement. This is a very serious threat to the national security of our country. All of this will require us to carefully consider, coordinate, and take effective countermeasures to stop NATO," Peskov said.
