According to RIA Novosti on May 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, stated that the leader would not be making any scheduled trips to the Middle East in May.

"No, the president is not scheduled to travel to the Middle East in May," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, adding that there is currently no specific information about the meeting.

Regarding the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, Peskov said it was very necessary and required appropriate preparation.

"We have repeatedly stated that such a meeting is something everyone wants to talk about, and in many ways, we believe it is certainly necessary. It must be properly prepared, and this requires efforts at many different levels of expertise, including ongoing contacts between Moscow and Washington, which have been initiated and are currently being maintained," Peskov said.

According to a Kremlin spokesperson, President Putin is preparing for a busy week, particularly the Victory Day celebrations, with bilateral meetings and a large number of guests.

"A very busy work week is beginning. The second half of this week will be especially busy. Today and tomorrow, the president is preparing for these busy days. Many bilateral meetings. Official visits. The Victory Day celebrations with all the important ceremonial events," Peskov said.
