Disaster prevention and response drills in Hung Nguyen.
(Baonghean.vn) -The drill involved more than 140 residents evacuating people and property to safe shelters.
To enhance the capacity of local government officials and Red Cross members in high-risk areas, and to minimize human and property losses during natural disasters, on the morning of June 6th, the Nghe An Provincial Red Cross, in coordination with the People's Committee of Hung Nhan commune (Hung Nguyen district), organized a drill on disaster prevention, response, rescue, and relief in 2017.

The exercise involved over 140 residents evacuating people and property to safe shelters; 20 members of the rescue force reinforced houses at risk of collapse or roof damage; searched for missing victims and rescued people from drowning.

The drill aimed to help local authorities and residents of Hung Nhan commune proactively prevent damage and losses in the event of natural disasters.
This activity is part of the "Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction" project funded by the Norwegian Red Cross.
