Smartphones can now help men check their sperm, both in terms of quantity and quality.

A publication in the journal Science Translational Medicine states that, based on a smart device developed by scientists at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston (USA) and applied to mobile phones, men can accurately determine the number of sperm and their motility, or the number of normally motile sperm, with up to 98% accuracy.

These are very important factors in determining a man's fertility.

Because this device performs its own analysis, it always provides accurate results.

How does this device work? The man simply "extracts" a small sample of sperm onto a disposable microchip, then slides it into a smartphone's slot. The phone's camera then acts like a microscope.

Finally, the app will run an analysis of the sperm, and you'll be shown a sample video. "Rest assured, the sperm won't get on your phone," the scientists reassure.

The report states that many smartphone-based sperm testing devices are currently available on the market. However, this is the first time such a device has successfully tested both the quantity and quality of sperm, providing more vivid and accurate images, at a lower cost compared to visiting specialized clinics.

Researchers are planning to test the device. They hope the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will approve it.
