Adjusting passion fruit purchasing price in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - After passion fruit growers in Nghe An reported unreasonable fruit purchase prices, on June 22, Nafoods Passion Fruit Joint Stock Company adjusted the average purchase price to 8,000 VND/kg.

In recent days, readers have been paying much attention to the news that passion fruit prices in Que Phong district have dropped, due to the factory's unreasonable adjustment of purchasing prices. Local authorities and relevant agencies have taken action.

With a receptive spirit, on June 22, Nafoods Passion Fruit Joint Stock Company sent a document to the People's Committee of Que Phong district and Tri Le commune regarding the adjustment of prices and methods of purchasing passion fruit in Que Phong district.

Accordingly, the average purchase price is determined to be 8,000 VND/kg. The purchase method does not classify the fruit as it was a few months ago. And the purchase time is all days of the week.

With this price adjustment and collection method, passion fruit growers in Que Phong earn about 160 to 180 million VND/ha.

Previously, people reported that since the beginning of the 2017 passion fruit harvest, Nafoods Passion Fruit Joint Stock Company has been purchasing passion fruit from people at the price of 4,000 VND/kg (grade 2) and 12,000 VND/kg (grade 1). However, grade 1 lemons only account for less than 10%.

The timely adjustment of Nafoods Passion Fruit Joint Stock Company shows the receptiveness in connecting raw passion fruit growers with processing factories. In the long term, in the face of market fluctuations, production factories and raw fruit growers need to discuss and reach an agreement for mutual benefit.
