In recent days, readers have been paying close attention to the news that passion fruit prices in Que Phong district have dropped due to unreasonable price adjustments by factories. Local authorities and relevant agencies have intervened.
In a proactive manner, on June 22nd, Nafoods Passion Fruit Joint Stock Company sent a document to the People's Committee of Que Phong District and Tri Le Commune regarding the adjustment of prices and purchasing methods for passion fruit in Que Phong District.
Accordingly, the average purchase price is set at 8,000 VND/kg. The purchasing method does not involve sorting the fruit as it did a few months ago. And the purchasing time is every day of the week.

With these price adjustments and collection methods, passion fruit growers in Que Phong earn approximately 160 million to 180 million VND per hectare.
Previously, local residents complained that from the beginning of the 2017 passion fruit harvest season until now, Nafoods Passion Fruit Joint Stock Company has been purchasing passion fruit from farmers at prices of 4,000 VND/kg (grade 2) and 12,000 VND/kg (grade 1). However, grade 1 passion fruit accounts for less than 10%.
The timely adjustments made by Nafoods Passion Fruit Joint Stock Company demonstrate a proactive approach to connecting passion fruit growers with processing plants. In the long term, given market fluctuations, both the production plant and the growers need to discuss and agree on terms to ensure mutual benefit.
