What's special about this place that has hosted the Party Congress four times?
Having hosted the 11th, 12th, and 13th Party Congresses, the National Convention Center is now ready for the opening of the 14th Party Congress on January 19th.
The National Convention Center, located at 57 Pham Hung Street (Hanoi), covers an area of over 43 hectares. It is one of the largest and most modern architectural projects in Vietnam, comprising the main building, landscaped grounds, a water plaza, outdoor parking, an underground parking garage, a helipad, and other supporting facilities.
This is where Party congresses and conferences are held, as well as many national and international political and cultural events.

Over the past few days, Standing Committee member Tran Cam Tu has directly chaired preliminary and final rehearsals and conducted numerous inspections of the organizational and service work, giving many important directives. At this point, all preparations have been basically completed and are ready for the successful 14th National Congress.
According to the Congress organizers, the decorations at the National Convention Center feature many new elements. In the main courtyard, numerous symbolic structures have been installed. Most notably, the hammer and sickle symbol, a star, and the inscription "Communist Party of Vietnam - 14th Congress" are placed in a prominent position.
The hall also displays books, newspapers, and photographs. Outstanding achievements in the fields of national defense, security, foreign affairs, Party building, and the political system are systematically summarized, providing delegates with core knowledge from previous terms.
In particular, in the main hall where the congress took place, a statue of President Ho Chi Minh was placed prominently in the center.

These days, the streets surrounding the National Convention Center are brightly decorated with flags, banners, and signs… welcoming this momentous event for the country.
Before and during the Congress, the Ministry of Public Security deployed forces, vehicles, and equipment to create multiple layers of strict security at the Congress venue and the delegates' accommodation locations.
Numerous police officers were stationed and guarding the entrances and surrounding areas of the main building. Many specialized police vehicles were deployed in the National Convention Center area.
The Congress is expected to be held over 6.5 days, saving 1.5 days compared to the previous term (the 13th Congress lasted 8 days).
During the preparatory session, the Congress will observe a minute of silence in memory of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and other Central Committee members who passed away during the 13th Party Congress term. This demonstrates the Congress's affection and gratitude for the immense contributions of these leaders to the past term, as well as to the process of Party building and national development.
During the Congress, many cultural and artistic activities were held in Hanoi to serve the people and spread a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere.
Immediately after the conclusion of the Congress, there will be a special art program hosted by the city of Hanoi to celebrate the success of the Congress.
