People's Artist Ha Vy's regret - the mother of the famous VTV female MC

ButThe title of People's Artist that you recently received must be very memorable, right?

The title of People's Artist is a source of pride and well-deserved recognition for the contributions of artists. I am honored and proud of what I have done. Of course, there are many artists who have not been fortunate enough to receive this title, but I believe that the audience's recognition and evaluation are the most objective and accurate.

ButShe entered the world of art when she was just 16 years old, and her first teacher must have had a significant influence?

That's right. My first teacher who taught me to recite poetry was the late People's Artist Tran Thi Tuyet. The first time I heard her recite, I remembered her voice perfectly, with clear pronunciation and full emotion. To this day, I still vividly remember her recitation, from the intonation and articulation of words, especially those lines of poetry:Oh, our majestic homeland/ The heroic land of the 20th century/ Be proud on the front lines against America/ We have the wonderfully brave South."

At that moment, the poetry resonated deeply, seeping into my very being. My love for poetry was ignited from that point on. Music and poetry always flow within me, like blood coursing through my veins!

- What is your most memorable experience from the early days of your career?

I was recruited by the late People's Artist Lê Đóa of the Armed Police Performing Arts Troupe. That was when I was singing at a cooperative meeting; back then, they used loudspeakers hung on utility poles and tree branches at the entrance to the alley. The officers heard my voice and immediately recruited me into the Armed Police Performing Arts Troupe.

At that time, I was surprised, delighted, and felt incredibly lucky because I had always longed to sing, to have my songs recorded and broadcast everywhere. Back then, I was captivated by artists like Ms. Tuyet Thanh, Ms. Bich Lien, Ms. Tuyet Nhung, Ms. Tran Thi Tuyet, Ms. Chau Loan…

- You've won many prestigious awards and the love of the audience, is there anything that People's Artist Ha Vy regrets?

When I was recruited into the Armed Police Performing Arts Troupe, I was just a young girl from the countryside who sang instinctively. Before that, I had only attended a one-week training course organized by the Hai Phong Department of Culture and Sports. In our time, we learned Russian and French, but very little, just enough to be able to sing a few songs. It would have been better if we had learned more foreign languages.

- People's Artist Ha Vy is often mentioned by audiences as a soldier who sings with all her heart, her voice transcending borders. Surely she must have sacrificed many family responsibilities and childcare duties for her work trips?

Recalling the times I was away from my children for long business trips, I can't help but feel a pang of sadness. Once, my wife and I were away on a business trip to Tay Ninh for four and a half months. At that time, Ly, my second daughter, wasn't even two years old. I had to send her to live with her paternal grandparents.

When we got home, my daughter kept hugging her grandmother, looking back at the photo hanging on the wall, then looking at me because she didn't recognize me. Seeing her covered in boils from the heat, I felt so sorry for her, and I had to try hard to hold back my tears. Many times I've felt weak and considered quitting my job because I wanted to spend more time with my family.

ButMC Hoang Trang- The host of popular VTV programs such as: Cultural Rendezvous, Memories of Time, Knocking on the Door of a New Day, Year-End Afternoon, Happy Lunch, and Proud Melodies... shared her pride in being her daughter. Did she ever have any expectations or goals for MC Hoang Trang?

I'm fortunate to have my husband and children always supporting and standing by me in every moment. From a young age, Trang has been loved by everyone for her quick wit, diligence, and intelligence. At the age of 5, she could already imitate foreign songs, unable to pronounce the words but with perfect intonation. As she grew up, when watching music competitions, she was also said to resemble me. But it's true that the profession chooses the person. I'm happy that she found her true passion and is always dedicated to it.

- Despite being busy with work, People's Artist Ha Vy is seen by her children as a woman who is very capable in the kitchen and at home?

I am a traditional woman. I am a workaholic and cannot stand idleness.

Partly because I'm blessed with resilience and endurance, and partly because the soldier in me doesn't allow me to falter, always remaining optimistic and ready for any situation. Plus, just seeing everyone enjoy the food I cook makes me very happy.

I can only feel at ease when my children are happy and joyful.

ButMC Hoang Trang's daughter shared that she's never seen her mother stop working and feels that if her mother had too much free time, she would get sick.

I'm quite meticulous, careful, and detail-oriented. Even now, with my grandchildren, I'm still the same. Sometimes people around me say, "Like a crab, like a crayfish, like a shrimp, like a crayfish," but really, it's not that I spoil my children, but rather that I want to share the burden. I only feel at ease when my children are happy and content.

- What are your thoughts on the current generation of young singers, where some singers haven't really been highly rated for their vocal abilities but have become famous quickly?

Today, the diverse development of musical genres creates many opportunities for young people. With folk music and revolutionary songs, competitions like Sao Mai have brought forth voices like Tung Duong and Ngoc Khue, whom I greatly admire. I believe that talent and love for music are the factors that help singers gain a lasting place in the hearts of the audience, because achieving success is not easy.

- According to People's Artist Ha Vy, how can we help the younger generation love and nurture their passion for revolutionary and traditional music?

In music competitions, revolutionary music and traditional music have never been forgotten; on the contrary, they are mash-ups, flexibly adapted, and given their own unique character. I always hope that young singers and the younger generation understand their roots and are proud of the history and music of our country.
