Affirming its position in youth training
Song Lam Nghe An has long been known as a cradle for training talented Vietnamese football players. Youth development is not only a source of pride but also a top priority for the province. In recent years, Song Lam Nghe An has continuously strived to improve professional quality, nutrition, and training conditions for its youth teams.

Entering 2025, fans hope that Song Lam Nghe An will achieve even more success, especially in the age groups from U17 to U21. Unlike the U9-U15 levels, these are the levels where the team from Nghe An often faces difficulties in the championship race due to fierce competition from major training centers nationwide.

Recently, the team has strengthened its squad with talented young players such as Phung Van Nam, Pham Nguyen Quoc Trung, Phan Van Thanh, Nguyen Trong Tuan and Bui Thanh Duc – all born in 2006 and currently playing in the V.League.
While the U19 team waited 19 years to return to glory, the U17 Song Lam Nghe An team last won the championship in 2020, and the U21 team has gone 11 years without a title. To improve the quality of training, besides professional expertise, Song Lam Nghe An urgently needs stronger investment in facilities, training grounds, and better treatment for young players. In particular, fans hope that the province and sponsors will continue to support the team, including ensuring timely budget disbursement to create the best conditions for the development of the youth academy in Nghe An.
Looking forward to the 33rd SEA Games with the Vietnam U22 team.
According to statistics, Song Lam Nghe An is the team that contributed the most promising players to the SEA Games 33, with 16 players under the age of 22 who have already played in the V.League. Notable among them are names such as goalkeeper Nguyen Van Viet, midfielders Dinh Xuan Tien, Nguyen Quang Vinh, Ho Van Cuong, Le Nguyen Hoang, and Tran Nam Hai.Le Dinh Long Vu...
These are all promising young players who have been given early opportunities to play for Song Lam Nghe An and are highly likely to catch the eye of coach Kim Sang-sik. Fans hope that 6-8 Song Lam Nghe An players will be included in the Vietnam U22 team at the upcoming SEA Games, following in the footsteps of their predecessors like Que Ngoc Hai, Phan Van Duc, and Pham Xuan Manh – who have contributed to the glory of Vietnamese football.

Although the rejuvenation of the squad may cause Song Lam Nghe An to struggle with short-term results, in the long run, this is the right direction not only for the team from Nghe An but also for Vietnamese football as a whole. In fact, Song Lam Nghe An leads in the number of U22 players appearing in the V.League, followed by Thanh Hoa (7 players), HAGL (6 players), and Viettel (5 players). These figures show that Song Lam Nghe An remains one of the leading youth academies in Vietnamese football.
Advancing to the National Cup Semi-finals, Top 10 in V.League
The biggest wish of Nghe An fans in 2025 is for Song Lam Nghe An to advance deep into the National Cup and finish the 2024/25 V.League season in a safe position within the Top 10. This is a completely achievable goal, as coach Phan Nhu Thuat's team has already impressively reached the quarterfinals of the National Cup, where they will face Dong Thap FC. If they overcome this opponent, Song Lam Nghe An could go even further, possibly reaching the final.

In the V.League, with the addition of quality players to the defense and midfield with the return of Van Khanh and Khac Ngoc, the Nghe An team has played more confidently and found a winning formula. In the new year, Song Lam Nghe An will also have its strongest squad as Olaha has recovered from injury and is ready for important matches against Hanoi, Hai Phong, Binh Duong and Hanoi Police.
Building a sustainable club
Besides aspirations for success, it is equally important that Song Lam Nghe An develops sustainably. In the context of many football teams in Vietnam facing financial difficulties, even dissolution or relegation, Song Lam Nghe An urgently needs special attention from the provincial government to find additional co-sponsors, reducing the pressure on the main sponsor.
Above all, with the efforts of the young players and the dedication of the coaching staff, fans hope that Vinh Stadium will soon be vibrant again, becoming a "cauldron" blazing with passion like in its glorious years. That is perhaps the most practical and meaningful wish for the new year of the Snake 2025.
