Propaganda orientation on electricity price increase and traffic safety

At the conference, the reporters heard the Vietnam Electricity Group briefly report on the power supply situation and production activities, emphasizing the efforts of the electricity industry to bring the national power transmission grid system to the first position and the second position in capacity in Southeast Asia.

The adjustment of the average retail electricity price is carried out according to the provisions of Decision No. 24/2017/QD-TTg dated June 30, 2017 of the Prime Minister on the mechanism for adjusting the average retail electricity price, ensuring the principle that electricity prices are implemented according to the market mechanism, with State regulation in accordance with the conditions of socio-economic development and people's income in each period.

Vietnam's electricity price in 2018 was at 0.074 USD/kWh, according to statistics, this price is suitable for Vietnam's socio-economic conditions. In the coming time, the industry will continue to adopt many key solutions to create breakthroughs in system operation as well as improve service quality.

Regarding the traffic sector, the National Traffic Safety Committee quickly informed about the traffic accident situation and the work of ensuring order. After synchronously implementing solutions on traffic safety control, the number of people killed in traffic accidents decreased from 11,395 people (in 2011) to 8,248 people (in 2018). The number of injured people decreased from 48,734 people (in 2011) to 14,802 people (in 2018). In the first months of 2019, the number of traffic accidents tended to decrease sharply compared to the same period of previous years.

Regarding the propaganda orientation in April 2019, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Le Manh Hung requested reporters to focus on propaganda with focus and key points on Decision No. 221-QD/TW of the Secretariat on the coordination regulations between the Propaganda Departments at all levels and State management agencies to provide implementation of socio-economic development plans, solving urgent problems of the people; Resolution 653/2019/UBTVQH14 on rearranging district-commune administrative units in the period 2019-2021 and Directive No. 33-CT/TW on strengthening the building of Party organizations in private economic units.

In addition to propagating the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws, the Central Propaganda Department requires the implementation of topics related to the specific interests of the people.

In April 2019, it is necessary to promote the propaganda of important foreign affairs activities of the Party and State such as: General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong attending the "Belt and Road" Summit held in Beijing (China); the visit and work of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly to the Kingdom of Morocco, the French Republic and attending the 140th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
