At the conference, speakers heard a brief update from Vietnam Electricity Corporation on the power supply situation and production activities, emphasizing the electricity sector's efforts to bring the national transmission grid system to the number one position and its capacity to the number two position in Southeast Asia.
The adjustment of the average retail electricity price is carried out in accordance with the regulations in Decision No. 24/2017/QD-TTg dated June 30, 2017, of the Prime Minister on the mechanism for adjusting the average retail electricity price, ensuring that electricity prices are implemented according to market mechanisms, with state regulation in line with socio-economic development conditions and people's income in each period.
Vietnam's electricity price in 2018 was $0.074/kWh, which, according to statistics, is appropriate for Vietnam's socio-economic conditions. In the future, the industry will continue to implement key solutions to create breakthroughs in system operation and improve service quality.

Regarding transportation, the National Traffic Safety Committee provided a quick update on the traffic accident situation and traffic order maintenance. After implementing comprehensive traffic safety control measures, the number of fatalities due to traffic accidents decreased from 11,395 (in 2011) to 8,248 (in 2018). The number of injuries decreased from 48,734 (in 2011) to 14,802 (in 2018). In the first few months of 2019, the number of traffic accidents showed a significant decrease compared to the same period in previous years.

Regarding the propaganda orientation for April 2019, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Le Manh Hung requested that speakers focus their propaganda efforts on key issues, including Decision No. 221-QD/TW of the Central Secretariat on the coordination regulations between the Propaganda Departments at all levels and state management agencies in providing and implementing socio-economic development plans and addressing pressing issues of the people; Resolution 653/2019/UBTVQH14 on the rearrangement of district and commune-level administrative units in the 2019-2021 period; and Directive No. 33-CT/TW on strengthening Party organization building in private economic units.
In addition to disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws, the Central Propaganda Department requires the implementation of thematic programs linked to the specific interests of the people.
In April 2019, it is necessary to intensify the dissemination of information about important foreign affairs activities of the Party and State, such as: General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong's participation in the "Belt and Road" Summit held in Beijing (China); the visit and working trip of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and the high-level delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly to the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of France, and participation in the 140th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
