(Baonghean.vn) – Located near the center of Vinh Son commune (Anh Son district), the Thuong Tho village communal house, dating back to the 19th century, is being neglected. With its unique architecture, it was once a gathering place for the people of Vinh Son commune and a meeting point for thousands of people during the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement (1930-1931). However, after nearly a century of abandonment, the Thuong Tho village communal house is increasingly deteriorating.
| The Thượng Thọ village communal house, located in Hamlet 1 (Vĩnh Sơn commune - Anh Sơn district), was built in 1859. It used to be a gathering place and cultural center for the people of Vĩnh Sơn commune. |
| The temple is intricately carved with dragons, mythical creatures, turtles, and phoenixes. |
| Over the centuries, the relics and artifacts within the temple still reveal a golden age for this ancient structure. |
| These massive stones support the pillars inside the temple. |
| The temple has 24 large columns made of ironwood. |
| According to the Chinese characters preserved at the temple: "Renovated in July/Completed in October/Year of Bao Dai", Thuong Tho Temple was renovated in July and completed in October of the Bao Dai era (1926). |
| Since then, the temple has deteriorated significantly and has not received any attention for repair. In the photo: Many parts of the roof are damaged and leaking. |
| The grass had grown so thick in front of the entrance that it completely blocked the path. |
| The roof tiles had fallen off and were scattered everywhere. |
| Many of the wooden beams have been infested with termites. |
| Signs of deterioration are evident everywhere. |
| The temple's foundation clearly bears the marks of neglect over time. |
| The People's Committee of Vinh Son commune announced that there will soon be a plan to repair the roof of the communal house and entrust its protection to the Management Board of Hamlet 1. However, the complete renovation will have to be submitted to higher authorities for approval. |
