Djokovic equals Australian Open title record.
The world number one struggled in the last two sets but still showed the composure to defeat Andy Murray 3-0 in the final in Melbourne on January 31st.

There were no surprises like in the women's final a day earlier, when world number one Serena Williams was defeated byAngelique KerberNovak Djokovic once again asserted his dominance in the world of men's tennis, and his superiority over Andy Murray.
The Serbian player entered the final like a whirlwind, sweeping away the second seed with a 6-1 victory in just 30 minutes. Murray tried harder in the remainder of the match, constantly changing tactics and creating a back-and-forth battle. But that only helped him create exciting sets, not enough to work a miracle.
After nearly three hours of play, Djokovic defeated the British hope with scores of 6-1, 7-5, 7-6(3).
Djokovic has reached the Australian Open final six times and won every time. He passedHe equaled the record for most championships won in Melbourne, previously held by Roy Emerson, after 49 years.However, considering only the Open Era, the Serbian player is the only one to hold the record for winning the first Grand Slam of the year.
This is Djokovic's 11th Grand Slam title. He climbed to fifth place on the list of players with the most Grand Slam titles, level with Rod Laver and Bjorn Borg.
For Murray, the Australian Grand Slam always brings back bittersweet memories. Murray reached the final five times and lost all five. No other player in history has lost all five finals of the same Grand Slam tournament like Murray. Four of those losses were against Djokovic.

Murray approached the match similarly to Roger Federer, trying to attack from the start, constantly disrupting Djokovic's rhythm. But the Serbian player is also known for his excellent defense, which proved difficult for Murray.sharing the same fate asFederer was in the semi-finals. Both attacked early but encountered a steel wall, making numerous errors and losing the first set 1-6.Murray made 65 unforced errors in three sets.
As Djokovic said before the match, playing against Murray was a battle of endurance and mentality. The Scottish player didn't give up easily. In the remaining two sets, he played very hard. There were many games where both players battled back and forth, constantly going to deuce, and it took almost ten minutes before someone could win.

Murray forced his opponent into long rallies. His strong serves also helped Murray avoid giving Djokovic easy breaks. After several exchanges, in the seventh game of the second set, Murray lost his consistency, allowing Djokovic to break his serve. But immediately, Murray secured the first break of the match, leveling the score and rekindling his hopes.
The turning point of the second set came in game 11. After taking a 40-0 lead, Murray allowed his opponent to equalize after a series of rallies with 36 touches of the racket. Djokovic had a break point when his opponent rushed to the net, and ultimately secured a crucial break.
The third set followed a similar pattern to the second, except that Djokovic was unable to break serve in the 11th game. The two players then proceeded to a tie-break.Djokovic secured the first mini-break and then took a 3-0 lead. Murray then committed a double fault, and that was enough for Djokovic to win 7-3 in the tie-breaker.
