Shazam is the eighth film in the DC Comic-Cinema Superhero Universe (DCEU), scheduled for release in 2019. The plot revolves around the hero Shazam (also known as Captain Marvel), whose real name is Billy Batson, who can transform into a superhero after shouting "Shazam!". The producers haven't yet found an actor for this role, but Dwayne Johnson has already been cast as his antagonist.
In the original comics, Black Adam is the arch-nemesis of the superhero Shazam. The Rock is particularly interested in Black Adam and believes the character has a more intriguing and captivating origin story than even Shazam himself.

Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson's solo Black Adam film project has yet to announce its director, screenwriter, or release date. However, DC Entertainment believes the Fast & Furious star's popularity will help the film succeed at the box office.
Before taking on a villainous role in a DC Comics film, The Rock is expected to reunite with audiences in three films released this year - Baywatch, Jumanji, and The Fate of the Furious.
