On November 15th, the My Tho City Police (Tien Giang province) temporarily detained Le Van Tieu (born in 1992, residing in Minh Thuan commune, U Minh Thuong district, Kien Giang province) for investigation into the crime of "extortion".

Using this tactic, at the end of 2020, Tieu forced her ex-boyfriend to transfer 6 million VND twice. The third time, on the morning of November 13th, Tieu messaged her ex-boyfriend demanding he transfer 2 million VND.
Tieu agreed to go to his ex-girlfriend's house in My Tho City to receive the money. Around 10 am that same day, when Tieu arrived to collect the money, he was detained by locals who then reported him to the police.
