A delegation from the Vietnam Buddhist Association presented 500 gift packages to people affected by floods in Nghe An province.

On October 20th, the working group of the Central Charity and Social Welfare Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Association, in coordination with the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Nghe An province, organized a program to visit and provide gifts to support people in overcoming the damage caused by Typhoon No. 10.

The program was led by Venerable Nun Thich Tam Chinh, Deputy Head of the Central Charity and Social Welfare Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Association. The gift-giving journey was organized at four temples in the province: Long Dong Temple, Phuc Tai Temple (Lam Thanh commune), Long Hoa Temple (Hung Nguyen Nam commune), and An Thai Temple (Quynh Phu commune), located in areas where many households suffered severe damage to their homes, property, and crops.storms and heavy rain.

The program was attended by representatives of the leadership of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, departments, agencies, local authorities, along with a large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and people of Lam Thanh commune.

At four locations, the delegation distributed 500 gift packages, including cash and essential necessities, with a total value of nearly 1 billion VND, aiming to share the difficulties and encourage people to quickly stabilize their lives and restore production after the natural disaster.

Speaking at the event, Venerable Thich Tri Hue, Chief Secretary of the Central Charity and Social Welfare Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Association, emphasized that this activity is part of the Association's relief program, demonstrating the Buddhist spirit of "compassion, relieving suffering, and saving lives," contributing to spreading the tradition of kindness and compassion of the Vietnamese people.

The program also aims to implement the Circular of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Association and respond to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, promoting the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance, and promptly sharing with people in areas affected by natural disasters.
