This is the second survey trip organized by the Command in coordination with the provinces in 2025. The trip aims to further strengthen the close relationship between the military and the people, specifically between the Regional Coast Guard and officials and people in the northern coastal provinces.

Next, the delegation from Nghe An, along with several other provinces, boarded the ship to conduct a practical experiment in surveying sea routes in the Gulf of Tonkin.
According to the plan, on the morning of June 13th, the survey team will approach Hon Me Island (Thanh Hoa province) to offer incense and flowers at the Monument to the Heroes and Martyrs; visit and encourage the officers and soldiers on the island; and listen to the island commander's report on the security situation and socio-economic development on the island.
However, due to bad weather conditions and Hon Me Island being in the affected area of typhoon No. 1, the delegation adjusted its plan to focus on raising awareness about the sea and islands and the current situation regarding compliance with regulations on combating illegal fishing at sea by fishermen from various provinces.

Hon Me Island is an archipelago located in the Gulf of Tonkin, in the sea area of Thanh Hoa province. The island belongs to Hai Binh ward, Nghi Son town, 70 nautical miles (120 km) from Hai Phong and 5.5 nautical miles (11 km) from the mainland of Thanh Hoa.
The island complex comprises 17 islands of varying sizes; the total area is 450 hectares, of which Hon Me Island, also known as Hon Me Lon, covers an area of 420 hectares.
