The delegation from the General Political Department extends New Year greetings to the Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Port Border Guard Station.
On January 30th, Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, led a delegation from the General Political Department to inspect combat readiness, visit and extend New Year greetings to officers and soldiers of the Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Port Border Guard Station, under the Command of the Border Guard Force of Nghe An province.
The delegation included Major General Nguyen Van Thien - Deputy Commander of the Border Guard; Major General Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Deputy Commander of Military Region 4; Major General Phan Van Sy - Deputy Head of Political Department of Military Region 4; Colonel Tran Quang Trung - Political Commissar of the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province, along with leaders and commanders of relevant agencies and units.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tien Dung, Commander of the Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Border Guard Post, briefly reported on the relevant situation to the Deputy Head of the General Political Department and the delegation. According to the report, the unit is responsible for managing and protecting a sea area of 1,798 km², a 9.3 km long maritime border, and 26 km of coastline; managing two estuaries with 537 fishing vessels operating regularly, and seven ports belonging to the Cua Lo seaport system; its jurisdiction includes Cua Lo ward and Hai Loc commune with nearly 100,000 inhabitants.
In 2025, the unit implemented comprehensive border guard measures, organized 78 patrols to ensure security and order in the port and border gate area; chaired and coordinated the handling of 3 criminal cases and 48 administrative violations with a total fine of over 574 million VND, including 8 cases of illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
Immigration and customs management was carried out strictly, administrative procedures were effectively reformed, facilitating the entry and exit of over 1,000 vehicles carrying nearly 9 million tons of goods to and from the port. The unit maintained a strict combat readiness regime, intensified propaganda against illegal fishing, actively participated in building a national border defense system, cared for social welfare, and supported poor students in overcoming difficulties.
Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung acknowledged and commended the results and achievements that the Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Port Border Guard Station has achieved in the past period.
The comrade requested that the unit continue to strictly adhere to directives and orders on combat readiness; firmly grasp the situation, manage and protect the sovereignty and security of the maritime border; do a good job in mass mobilization work, and build a strong all-people border defense posture.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, General Do Xuan Tung wished the officers and soldiers of the unit and their families a new year filled with health, happiness, and the successful completion of all assigned tasks.
