The delegation from Nghe An province will attend the That Luang Vientiane Festival 2025 in Laos.

At the invitation of the Vientiane Capital City Committee, Lao People's Democratic Republic, on the evening of November 1st, a delegation from Nghe An province, led by Mr. Phung Thanh Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, attended the 2025 That Luang Festival in Vientiane, Lao People's Democratic Republic. Also in attendance were leaders from the Departments of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Provincial People's Committee Office.

On the Lao side, the attendees included the Deputy Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, leaders of central agencies, and officials from the capital city of Vientiane.

The That Luang Festival in Vientiane is the most important and largest traditional festival of the Lao people, held annually in November in the capital city of Vientiane.

The festival includes various cultural and artistic exchange activities, stalls displaying, introducing, and selling handicrafts, traditional costumes, agricultural products, industrial goods, etc., not only from localities in Laos but also with the participation of neighboring countries and Laos' international sister cities.

In his opening remarks, Comrade Kikeo Phaykhamphithun, Member of the Political Bureau and Deputy Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, emphasized, "The That Luang Festival is a sacred symbol, expressing gratitude, solidarity, and close ties among the Lao people of all ethnic groups. 2025 is a year of special historical significance as the Lao Party, State, and people celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the 105th anniversary of the birth of President Kaysone Phomvihane, and the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic."

This year's festival is not only an occasion to honor the national cultural heritage, but also an opportunity to enhance exchanges and strengthen friendly relations between Laos and international friends.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Assangthong Siphandon, Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Deputy Secretary of the Vientiane City Party Committee, and Mayor of Vientiane, affirmed: “The That Luang Festival is a beautiful tradition, a sacred cultural and spiritual symbol of the Lao people, reflecting the spirit of solidarity, compassion, hospitality, and national pride. 2025 is a year of special significance for the Lao Party and country; therefore, organizing this year's festival is even more valuable in preserving and promoting national cultural identity and strengthening solidarity among localities throughout the country as well as with international friends.”

As part of the program, the delegation from Nghe An province participated in the main activities of the festival.

This is the first activity within the framework of the Friendship Cooperation Agreement between Nghe An province and Vientiane Capital, signed by both sides on May 12, 2025, aiming to promote the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two localities.

Attending the That Luang Festival in 2025 is an important opportunity to strengthen the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, while also opening up opportunities for trade, tourism, investment, and cultural exchange between Nghe An and Vientiane.
