The Vietnamese sports delegation departs to participate in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
On the evening of July 17th, a solemn send-off ceremony was held in Hanoi for the Vietnamese sports delegation participating in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
At the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the Vietnamese sports delegation will have 16 athletes participating in 11 sports, including: Nguyen Thuy Linh, Le Duc Phat (Badminton), Trinh Thu Vinh, Le Thi Mong Tuyen (Shooting), Vo Thi Kim Anh, Ha Thi Linh (Boxing), Nguyen Huy Hoang, Vo Thi My Tien (Swimming), Nguyen Thi That (Cycling), Trinh Van Vinh (Weightlifting), Nguyen Thi Huong (Canoeing), Pham Thi Hue (Rowing), Le Quoc Phong, Do Thi Anh Nguyet (Archery), Hoang Thi Tinh (Judo) and Tran Thi Nhi Yen (Athletics).
In preparation for the world's largest and most intense sporting event, the Department of Physical Education and Sports has recently intensified its efforts to direct relevant units to meticulously prepare the athletes and ensure the necessary conditions for the Vietnamese sports delegation to achieve the best possible results at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The Department has also coordinated with the Vietnam Olympic Committee, national sports associations, relevant ministries, departments, and localities to focus on training and improving the skills of athletes through the qualifying rounds, enhancing nutritional supplements, providing proper nutrition, training and competition equipment, medical care, and other necessary conditions, as well as training and competing abroad for athletes.
In addition to professional duties, care, rehabilitation, injury treatment, and many other sideline activities have been given attention and guidance by the units to create a positive atmosphere in training and competition and reduce the pressure of achieving results for athletes preparing for the Olympic Games.
According to the Decision on the establishment of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation signed by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Van Hung, the delegation consists of 39 members, including 16 athletes, 16 coaches and experts, and 2 doctors, competing in 11 out of 32 sports.
"Although we know that achieving success at the Olympic Games is very difficult, besides the key athletes who have the potential to make breakthroughs, other athletes must strive to surpass themselves. This is also the determination to achieve success and the promise of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation before embarking on their mission."
The Vietnamese sports delegation clearly understands its responsibility and is preparing with a strong spirit, determination, and a desire to contribute, ready to enter the decisive battle for glory and the colors of the national flag.
Before attending the Games, in this solemn ceremony today, all officials, coaches, experts, and athletes of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation pledge to the Party, State, Government, and people that they will strive to compete to the best of their abilities, calmly, confidently, intelligently, creatively, and tenaciously, winning every medal for the Delegation and the Fatherland," Head of Delegation Dang Ha Viet expressed his determination before departing.
Prior to participating in the world's biggest sporting event, on behalf of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong urged the members of the Vietnamese Olympic team to recognize their immense responsibility to the country and its sports-loving citizens. He emphasized that the Vietnamese team members should be exemplary, humble, and willing to learn, maintain friendly relations with international friends, absolutely respect the customs, traditions, and laws of the host country, and comply with the regulations of the Games.
This meaningful send-off ceremony will provide invaluable moral support to the coaches and athletes, giving them the motivation to surpass themselves in this biggest arena in the world.
