US, North Korean advance team arrives in Hanoi

This North Korean advance team arrived in Beijing, China last night, including Mr. Kim Chang-son, who serves as the chief of staff to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

A source said that officials in the US advance team have also been arriving in Hanoi sporadically for the past few days and the last group arrived at Noi Bai airport last night.

The activities come ahead of the second summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, scheduled for February 27-28. North Korean advance officials will discuss logistics arrangements for the important event with their US counterparts, according to the source.Yonhap.

Television stationMBCNorth Korean leader Kim Jong-un is expected to visit Vietnam two days ahead of his summit with US President Trump in Hanoi, South Korea's state-run news agency reported. Kim Jong-un may also visit some businesses in northern Vietnam.

Previously, during his official visit to North Korea from February 12 to 14, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh affirmed that Vietnam is ready to share with North Korea its experience in nation building, socio-economic development and international integration based on Pyongyang's requests.

DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho agreed to discuss measures to strengthen bilateral relations in line with the new situation, and thanked Vietnam for its stance and efforts in promoting the dialogue process for peace, security, cooperation and development on the Korean Peninsula.
