Vietnamese businesswoman makes it into the top 100 most powerful women in the world.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is the only representative from Vietnam, ranking 62nd in Forbes magazine's 2016 list of the 100 most powerful women in the world.
Forbes magazine's evaluation criteria include: money (assets, company revenue, national GDP), media presence, influence, and their impact both within their own field (media, business, technology, etc.) and in other fields.
The women on this list are considered some of the world's smartest and toughest. They are business leaders, politicians, investors, scientists, and philanthropists making their mark globally.
Leading the list this year is still German Chancellor Angela Merkel, holding the number one position for the sixth consecutive year. Following her are Democratic US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen, philanthropist Melinda Gates, and General Motors CEO Mary Barra.
