Unique stone bridge over 200 years old in Nghe An.

(Baonghean.vn) - The bridge is designed in a rainbow architectural style, consisting of 18 spans and assembled from 40 large and small stone slabs. What is special about this stone bridge is that despite being made of many slabs, no binding material is needed. Having withstood numerous historical upheavals, the stone bridge remains in its original state.

The stone bridge spans the Ruoc stream, connecting the two communes of Trung Thanh and Nam Thanh.

The stone bridge in Trung Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, is a unique architectural structure spanning Bau Ruoc, over 200 years old, connecting the two communes of Trung Thanh and Nam Thanh.

The bridge's surface is made up of 40 large and small stone slabs.

Locals still recount the story: In the 19th century, Mr. Nguyen Van Ba, originally from Ha Tinh province, came to settle in the area and voluntarily contributed money and labor, and mobilized the people to donate to build a bridge. Mr. Ba himself contributed 3 buffaloes and 3 cows to the bridge construction.

The stone slabs are joined together without the use of any adhesive, yet they have survived for over 200 years.

Mr. Tran Van Lam, an elderly resident of Trung Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, said: "The elders used to say that Mr. Ba saw that the villagers had difficulty traveling across Bau Ruoc, so he went around collecting donations from benefactors in the area, and then used that money to hire workers to go to the Len Co quarry (Nam Thanh commune) to quarry stone to build a bridge."

The bridge surface is polished smooth without any patterns.

Every day, residents of Trung Thanh and Nam Thanh communes still travel across this bridge.
